Southons Field

Southons Field is a lovely area of open space with a large variety of trees.  There is a wooden play trail and swing for children along with picnic benches.  A small goal has also been made available for those wishing to visit the field with a football.

The area can be hired out for children’s parties and is also used for the annual Marden Motor Show and Russet Runners 10k along with Rude Mechanicals theatrical group.

If you wish to hire the field for an event please contact Sue at deputyclerk@mardenkent-pc.gov.uk.  There is a fee chargeable if you wish to have exclusive use of the field or are a commercial company.

Field Information

Fees – 1^st April 2026 to 31^st March 2027

Event hire for exclusive use of the field or a profit making organisation

Hourly rate: £20.00 / ½ day (up to 4 hours): £75.00 / Over 4 hours:  £150.00

Field Opening and Closing

February and March:  8am to 6pm (or dusk if earlier)

April to August: 7am to 8pm

September and October: 7am to 7pm

November to January: 8am to 4pm
